Tonga Agriculture Show

The Family Protection Legal Aid Centre (FPLAC) recently just opened in March of this year so participating in the Agricultural show in Tonga was a constructive program for awareness raising. Naomi Fakauka and Fatafehi Uata  teamed up with Lesila To’ia Lokotui and Sela Sini Tu’ipulotu from Women and Children’s Crisis Centre once again for this event.

Partnering up with WCCC was a valuable setup as the two Centres were able to strengthen the one call to stop domestic violence in Tonga. This arrangement also showed the public about the different services available in Tonga for survivors of domestic violence. FPLAC ONLY provides free legal assistance and representation in Court to survivors of domestic violence while WCCC provides counselling and a safe house (to name a few of the free services they provide.)

Overall the team were very grateful for the chance to interact with the public and to put out the key message that the Centres are resources available for the survivors of domestic violence.
